Pattern design
Vinterstad, 2018
Stad, 2016
“Stad” is the Swedish word for city. The inspiration to the pattern Stad came when I lived in Helsinki for a while, from the architecture with beautiful details. My drawing of a city is simple and playful, where every house is unique.
Lador, 2015
“Lador” is the Swedish word for barns and it´s the name for a pattern I designed to an event called Pop up Ostrobothnia 2015 in Helsinki. I got the inspiration from the old barns in the fields of Ostrobothnia. When I moved to Pietarsaari this was actually one of the first things I noticed, which differed from the landscape in southern Finland.
Pyykkiä, 2014
“Pyykkiä” (laundry in Finnish) was my first pattern design for a textile course at school. I wanted my design to be fun, playful and to give a feeling of summer. I sketched a lot of different versions before I came up with the final pattern. I wanted to use clean and simple lines and to avoid a stiff impression I added some movements to the clothes and some funny and unexpected things
on the clothesline.
